Common issues
App won’t open after upgrade
Settings → Privacy & data → "Reset local data (keep cloud)" wipes the on-device persisted state without touching your synced cloud data. If that doesn’t help, uninstall + reinstall the APK. Your cloud data resyncs on next sign-in.
Lost my data
If cloud sync is enabled (Settings → Privacy & data → "Cloud sync"), reinstalling the app + signing in restores your groups + expenses + invoices. Drive backup of receipt images is a future feature; receipts you uploaded to Drive are restorable from your Drive trash for 30 days.
Pro purchase didn’t activate
RevenueCat reconciles entitlement on each cold-boot. Force-quit the app + reopen first. If still missing, Settings → Pro → "Restore purchases" forces a fresh check against the App Store / Play Store. Email us with your purchase receipt if it persists.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions purchased in-app are managed by Apple or Google. iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Splivo. Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Splivo. Cancellations are honored immediately by the store; access continues until the end of the current period.
Status
Splivo is a small operation; if outages occur, follow @splivoapp on social. We’re working on a dedicated status page (placeholder: status.getsplivo.com); until then, the social account is the canonical incident channel.

Response time honesty
We’re a small team; email responses typically within 48 hours weekdays, longer on weekends. In-app feedback gets prioritized because it includes device context, which means we don’t have to ask you 3 questions before we can reproduce. We don’t offer 24/7 chat support and won’t pretend to.
Getting started
Do I need an account to use Splivo?
You need a phone number to verify a Splivo account so friends can find you. The people you invoice or settle with don't need an account — they click your pay link and send through Venmo/Cash App/Zelle/PayPal/crypto.
How do I invite friends to a group?
Open the group → tap "Invite someone" in the group menu. Splivo generates an invite link you share via your preferred messaging app. They tap → the app opens / installs → they land in your group.
Can I use Splivo on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Splivo ships for both. When cloud sync is enabled, your data follows you across devices.
How does receipt scan work?
Tap the camera icon on any expense. Splivo's on-device OCR reads line items and prices. You tap who ordered what → the split finalizes. The receipt image never leaves your device.
Which currencies does Splivo support?
All of them. Splivo auto-detects your device currency on first launch; you can change it in Profile → Currency, and set per-group overrides for travel.
Splitting & settling
What split methods are available?
Four: Equal, By share (weighted), By percentage, and By item (from receipt line items). Splivo's smart-split heuristic suggests the best one based on the expense shape.
How do I send a pay link to someone who doesn't have Splivo?
Any split generates a /pay link. Share it via text, email, or any messaging app. The recipient opens a lightweight web page, picks their preferred payment app, and sends. Zero downloads required on their end.
Can I edit or delete an expense after adding it?
Yes. Tap any expense → Edit to change, Delete to remove. Deleted expenses are gone from your device immediately; if cloud sync was on, the server-side soft-delete completes on next connect.
Does Splivo remind people who owe me?
Yes, with your control. Enable per-expense settle-up reminders on the expense detail. Splivo schedules a gentle T+3 / T+14 notification cadence by default; flip to "firm" (adds T+7) or off in Settings → Notifications.
Splivo Pro
What does Pro unlock?
Smart settle plans, 90-day balance history, budget goals per category, invoice depth (line items, tax, tip, logo, client records, recurring invoices), appearance presets, avatar tint, unlimited templates, recurring expenses, and future opt-in bank import when available. Website pricing is shown on the pricing page; mobile purchase options are shown only inside the supported app-store flow.
How do I cancel Pro?
Cancel through the billing provider you used for purchase. App-store purchases are managed in Apple or Google subscription settings. Web purchases, if offered, are managed through Splivo's web checkout provider. Your Pro features stay active through the end of the current billing cycle.
Can I get a refund?
Refund options depend on the billing provider used for purchase. App-store purchases follow Apple or Google refund policies. Web purchases, if offered, follow Splivo's web checkout refund policy. Email support and we'll point you to the right path.
Privacy & data
Where is my data stored?
Local-first. Groups, expenses, chat, receipts, and invoices live on your device. Cloud sync is opt-in. Receipt OCR runs on-device — the image never leaves your phone.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Privacy & data → "Delete my account." Local data wipes immediately; cloud data queues for permanent deletion after a 30-day grace window. Sign back in within 30 days to cancel.
Does Splivo sell my data?
No. No ads, no data brokers, no third-party analytics sold to anyone. The only third parties Splivo shares data with are the infrastructure partners that make the app work (auth, push, sync) — listed on the
integrations page.
